Ah Bengs=Bad.....NOT
What I saw in the train yesterday definitely need to be blogged about. After meeting some friends at Bugis, I got Jon to drive me to Little India NEL station to take the train home.
Entered one of the cabins at the center of the train. There was this huge group of young punks or Ah Bengs. The ghim moh hair and all. Some looked younger than me some older. There were about 15 of them in the cabin. Some sitting on the floor and some on the seats. Train was of course packed.
When people look at ah bengs they think, bad boys or boys who are restless and hang out in huge groups creating trouble. i think these boys are not much different from us. They have hearts too and they do feel compassion, more than some of us in fact.
At Potong Pasir station, 2 elderly ladies boarded the train. There were of course no seats at all in the train (I was standing too). You know how I can't tolerate people who don't give up their seats on the train to elderly or pregnant women. Guess what, out of the many execs seated in the train, none gave up their seats to these elderly women (call themselves educated?!). The boys however smiled sweetly at the 2 elderly and told them to have their seats. How nice is that?! Shame on those well dressed people.
